The Ark of the Covenant

I. Tabernacle

1. We are made in the Image of God – His fingerprint is the proof of His creation.

2. God is the triune God – man is triune, made of body, soul and spirit. (1 Th 5:23)

3. Triune nature of man is seen in the pattern of the Tabernacle – Outer court, The Holy place and The most Holy Place correspondence to the body, soul and spirit.

4. In (2 Peter 1:13-14) Peter calls the body a tabernacle. And so did Paul (2 Cor 5:1)

5 . In O.T. times, God dwelt in the Tabernacle, now God dwells in every born-again child of God.

6. Moreover, our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. (1 Cor 3:16-17)

II. Correlations between human body, human cell and tabernacle

III. Ark of the Covenant – made of acacia(shittim) wood and covered with gold. The Ark was the first item of furniture constructed after God told Moses to build the Tabernacle. It was the place where god met with and talked with Moses. (Exodus 25:10-22)

IV. Old Testament vs New Testament

V. Jesus is the great high priest over the house of God. (Hebrews 10:19-21)

1. In-Person Meeting: In order to ensure we operate in a safe environment, we ask all visitors to observe the following tentative rules and guidelines when coming to our church physical meetings (updated Aug 2022):
   1. There is no age limit for children to come to the church. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to come to worship together. However, Sunday school and nursery are not available. Parents need to accompany their young children while they are inside the church building.
   2. For brothers and sisters who desire to join the Chinese Sunday Worship Service, please make reservations by calling Sister Kate Chiang at 626.757.6992. Reservation is not required for joining the English Sunday Worship Service.
   3. Face masks are recommended.
   4. Temperature check is required upon entering the church
   5. Wash your hands upon entering the church

2. Prayer Meeting: Prayer Meetings are Tuesdays from 8:00 to 9:15PM, joining via Webex for the combined session of the meeting (Meeting number: 627 564 274 Password: 4000). We are using Zoom for the English group session, please reach out to Richer for login information.
3. Offering: If you would like to make offerings, you can send your checks to: Home of Christians, L.A., PO Box 507, Monterey Park, CA 91754. Our accounting department will handle the offering every Sunday from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

6. Bible Reading Plan: For 2022 Bible-in-a-year reading, we will be reading a chronological plan. We will follow “Wondered by the Word — The Bible in a Year” and will read through the Bible in a year, chronologically. With a reading plan, we can keep one another accountable in our Bible reading.
