Hebron, I’m back for good!
Scriptures: Joshua 14, Numbers 13
I. Inheritance West of Jordan
1. Inheritance delegated to Eleazar and Joshua distribute to the heads of the fathers’ house of the tribes.
2. Their inheritance was by lot as the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses.
3. For the Levites, no portion in the land, but only cities to dwell in with pasturelands.
4. Manasseh and Ephraim one portion each. So is the rest of the ten tribes.
II. Caleb reminds Joshua of God’s promise through Moses
1. Caleb is the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite.
2. Meaning of Celeb, “dog”.
3. Quality of Caleb:
a. One of the leaders sents by Moses to be on of the spies at age 40.
b. He had strong faith in His God.
c. He wholly followed the Lord his God.
III. Secret of Caleb’s faith
1. Leaning on the promises of God with patience and assurance.
2. Relying on the strength of God.
3. Claiming the promise of God.
4. Trusting that God will strengthen him and enable him to prevails against the enemies.
Footnotes. Their leaders, Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai were destroyed by Caleb along the tribe of Judah and the Anahim was successfully driven out. (To be continued next week)

- Memorial Service:
The memorial service for Sister Betty Lu will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at Church of the Hills, Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills. Address: 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068. Please remember Brother James Lu and his family in your prayers. Our church will charter a bus to transport brothers and sisters to and from the memorial service. If you need a ride, please RSVP via text to Caleb no later than Monday, October 6. - Parking: We continue to reserve our church parking spaces on Sunday for the elderly, those with children and those with special needs. We are grateful to the Lord that our brothers have secured permission from Dr. Howard Chen’s Orthodontics clinic for the use of his parking lot at 318 N Garfield Ave., which is conveniently located on the same side as our church and adjacent to Dim Sum Express. Please click here for reference. The lot offers 30 parking spaces, and we encourage all congregants to fully utilize these spaces. Please ensure that you park within the designated lines, lock your doors and windows, refrain from leaving valuables in your vehicles, and maintain cleanliness in the parking area. This arrangement is available every Sunday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
- In-Person Meetings: Welcome back! English group, Chinese group and children Sunday School is back to in person meetings. Our meeting schedule has changed, Sunday morning starts 9:15AM with Breaking of Bread followed by worship and message at 10:00AM. Please refer to the schedule for details.
