Parables of Jesus

Scriptures: Luke 15, 19:10, Rev 2:1-5, 2 Th 2:13-17

1. The Lost Sheep – “there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.” (Luke 15:7)

2. The Lost Coin – “there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (Luke 15:10)

3. The Prodigal Sons –
a. The younger son – “for this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.’ And they began to celebrate.”
(Luke 15:24)
b. The older son –
i. Was not enjoying the Father – “And he said to him, ‘Son, you have always been with me, and all that is mine is yours.” (Luke 15:31)
ii. Has left the first love (Rev 2:1-5)

4. Conclusions:
a. Jesus receives sinners and tax collector. (Luke 15:1-2)
b. Jesus comes to save and seek the lost ones. (Luke 19:10)
c. God has chosen us from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth – that you may gain the glory
of our Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Th 2:13-15)
d. Constantly experiencing the love, comfort, good hope by grace from our Lord Jesus Christ and God our Father. (2 Th 2:16-17)
