Message: Lord Jesus Is Our Good Neighbor – Redeemer
– Lord Jesus is the only Good Neighbor to mankind
– Lord Jesus is always the Good Neighbor to Christians

Hymnary 427: Jesus Only
Scriptures (main): Luke 10:21-37
Scriptures (reference): Romans 3:23, 1 John 5:19. John 3:16, Revelation 22:12, 20

Outline:
I. God gave Lord Jesus as the only Redeemer to mankind; Lord Jesus is the only Good Neighbor

    1. The whole world lies in the power of the evil one (1 John 5:19, also see Genesis 3)
    2. God sent His beloved Son to go through many difficulties and accomplished the redemption
    3. God have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent like the lawyers, priests, and the Levites. These people are supposed to teach, lead, and help people to know God, but they reject the Lord. (See Luke 11:45-52 The three woes to the lawyers)
    4. To infants – those who recognize they know nothing, incompetent, in need of a redeemer and accepted the Redeemer. They are like the one who fell among the robbers and are waiting for their redemption.

II. The Good neighbor gave up his life to save those pitiful and dying sinners
    1. He used oil – the precious and abundant Spirit of God’s Son, He gives mankind the new life, and ease the sinners’ pain.
    2. He used wine – the Son of God has gone through death and became wine. The wine washes the wounds
    3. Bandaged up – refers to the perfect salvation
    – Lord Jesus is the only Good Neighbor to mankind

III. The Good Neighbor prepares a place for the wounded to recover

    1. Put him on his own beast – The Lord walked instead and went through many difficulties to redeem sinners
    2. Brought him to an inn – the Church of Jesus Christ – to take care of him.
    3. He took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper (the Church) to take care of him
      i. 1 denarius is for the wounded
ii. 1 denarius is for the innkeeper to take care of the wounded until the Lord return. (See Luke 19:11-27 “Parable of Money Usage,” and Matthew 20:2 “a denarius is for the servant’s lifetime wage.”

IV. The Good Neighbor will return and pay back
    1. The wounded and the innkeeper who took care the wounded will receive their own portion – reward or punishment. But at the end, they will be with the Lord forever.
    2. Every indication is telling us the Lord is coming back soon. Receive caring or to take care of the weak, be alert and wait of the return of our Lord! (See Revelation 22:7, 12-14, 20, 21)
    – Lord Jesus is always the Good Neighbor to Christians
