Joy of Living in the Spirit

Scriptures: Psalms 27:4-6, Gen 6:3, Numbers 11:24-25, 1 Samuel 16:13-14, Gen 31:12-13, Psalms 51:10-14, 1 John 2:27-28, Matthew 18:1-3, Matthew 11:28-30, Psalms 104:1-9, Luke 8:25

I. After the fall, God’s spirit doesn’t always dwell with man forever.
II. God appeared to Jacob in Bethel – House of God
III. David desired to dwell in the House of God.
IV. David prayed for continues presence of God’s spirit.
V. In the New Testament time, we received the seal of the Holy Spirit.
VI. The Holy Spirit teaches us all things.
VII. We should rely completely upon the Holy Spirit-Jesus says “My yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
VIII. Symbols of the Holy Spirit

    1. Rains- refreshing works. (Acts 2:17-18)
    2. Rivers-overflowing of fullness, life and love to others.
    (John 7:37-39)
    3. Winds-depicting God’s power and guidance.
    (John 3:8, Acts 2:3)
    4. Oil-His works in us, truth, holiness and wisdom.
    (1 John 2:20-27)
    5. Wine-new wine in old vessels. (Eph 5:18)
    6. Fire-to probe the inner recesses of our life and to refine us as gold or silver is refined in the fire. (Acts 2:3)
    7. Dove-Gentleness and peace. (Matt 3:16)
