It is I; Do Not Be Afraid
Scriptures: John 6:1-21, Matt 14:13-21,22-33, Mark 6:30-44,45-52, Luke 9:10-17
I. Spiritual principles regarding the feeding of five thousand.
- 1. Attract others by God’s healing power. (John 6:2, Matt 14:14, Luke 10:11)
2. Life of prayers and thanksgiving. (Luke 6:12-13, 9:28)
3. Compassionate. (Matt 14:14, Mark 6:34)
4. God test our faith in His sovereignty. (John 6:6)
5. Example of Andrew – bringing others to Jesus. (John 6:8-9)
6. Principle of 5 loaves and 2 fish. (All 4 gospels) –
- a. Life of consecration. (Rom 12:1-2)
b. Power of resurrection (John 11:17)
7. God of order.
8. He is a good Shepherd – we’re the sheep. (John 10)
9. Spiritual arithmetic principle – look up to heaven and said a blessing.
10. Role of disciples.
11. Principles of conservation – 12 baskets full.
II. Jesus walks on water.
- 1. Church should obey of God’s command. (Mark 6:45, Matt 14:22)
2. Jesus is watching over us through the winds and storm. (Mark 6:48)
3. Learn to hear the comforting word of Jesus – “It is I, do not be afraid.” (John 6:20)
4. Jesus will lead us through the Church journey to where we should go. (John 6:21)
5. Focus on Jesus and not at the circumstances. (Matt 14:28-33)
III. Applications:
- 1. Acknowledge that God is in control of past, present and future.
2. Commit our lives to God and allow Him to control our future. (1 Peter 5:6, Rom 12:1-2)
3. Rightly handling the word of truth – by understanding His divine purpose both in His eternal plan and His plan for our personal lives. (2 Tim 2:15)
4. Listen to the leading of the anointing. (1 John 2:27-28)
5. Observing our circumstances through the eye of God. (Numbers 24:3-5)

- In-Person Meeting: In order to ensure we operate in a safe environment, we ask all visitors to observe the following tentative rules and guidelines when coming to our church physical meetings:
- Please make a reservation for the Sunday Worship Service and or Breaking of Bread Meeting. We ask brothers and sisters to make a one-month reservation by visiting http://www.hocla.us/rsvp/ or call/text Brother Caleb Kwok at 626.888.9746. For Chinese Worship Service, please call Sister Käte at 626-757-6992. Reservation is required only for the Sunday Worship Service and the Breaking of Bread Meeting. If you come to our Sunday Worship Service without a reservation, we may or may not be able to accommodate you depending on the available seating capacity at that time.
- Anyone regardless of the vaccination status who comes to church meetings is subject to health screening and temperature check.
- Please wash your hands upon entering the church building. The church provides two hand sanitizing dispensers. One is placed in the entrance and another one on the second floor around the elevator area.
- Please wear a face mask while inside the church building. We will provide you one if you do not have one.
- When attending church meetings, please sit in every other seat to maintain a certain distance.
- Please sanitize the meeting place after each use.
- Children under 12 years old are not allowed to come in at this point.
- We will post the above rules and guidelines on the entry door.
- Prayer Meeting: Prayer Meetings are Tuesdays from 8:00 to 9:15PM, joining via Webex for the combined session of the meeting (Meeting number: 627 564 274 Password: 4000). We are using Zoom for the English group session, please reach out to Richer for login information.
- Offering: If you would like to make offerings, you can send your checks to: Home of Christians, L.A., PO Box 507, Monterey Park, CA 91754. Our accounting department will handle the offering every Sunday from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

- Bible Reading Plan: For 2022 Bible-in-a-year reading, we will be reading a chronological plan. We will follow “Wondered by the Word — The Bible in a Year” and will read through the Bible in a year, chronologically. With a reading plan, we can keep one another accountable in our Bible reading.
