Be True in an Age of Confusion

Scriptures: 2 Timothy 3:1,13, Proverb 12:17, 26:24-25, John 4:6, Philippians 2:15-16, Galatians 4:16

I. We live in an age of confusion:
-Confusion in Culture
-Confusion in Identity
-Confusion in Morality
-Confusion in Christian messages
— We’re confused because the truth is being twisted or buried with lies.
John 8:44, 2 Tim 3:1, 3:13, 4:4, Prov 12:17, 26:24, 25, Gal 4:16

II. What is truth?
— Jesus said He is the truth.
— And He has sent us His Spirit who is called the Spirit of truth.
John 14:6, John 16:13

III. How do we hold out the truth in an age of confusion?
— We need the truth as the true north of our lives.
— The world needs to see the light of truth in the darkness of confusion.
— We need to learn how to communicate and defend our faith
1 Tim 3:15, Eph 6:14, 2 Cor 2:7-8, Phil 2:15-16

IV. Be watchful and pray!
— Study the Word lest we are deceived.
— Pray for church leaders for discernment to keep out false teachings from their flocks.
John 17:17, 2 John 10, 11
