Marks of the Spiritual Christians

Scriptures: 1 Cor 3, I Cor 6:19, Eph 1:9-11, II Cor 6:16, Psalms 94:8-11, Job 5:10-15

I. Two type of believers: (1 Cor 3:1-4)

1. Infants belong to this world – fed with milk, not ready for anything stronger and controlled by sinful nature. Life of jealousies and quarreling. Living and acting like people of the world.

2. Spiritual – fed with solid food and prepared for stronger things and controlled by the Holy Spirit.

II. Functions of God’s servants – performing God’s work faithfully
accordingly to God’s commission and trusting that God will
accomplish it. (I Cor 3:5-11)

III. Marks of Mature Christians:

1. God the Father preparing the field of our soul, building in it and enabling it to grow. (I Cor 3:5-9)

2. Jesus Christ as the foundation – He came down to earth to manifest the Father, to teach and accomplish God’s plan of Salvation. (I Cor 3:10-11)

3. The Holy Spirit is constantly leading us to live this Godly life – we are the temple of God and the Holy Spirit lives in us enabling us to live a holy life. God will protect His temple. (I Cor 3:16-17. 6:19, II Cor 6:16)

4. True wisdom is to live in the Spirit and to acknowledge that Everything belongs to you, and you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God. (I Cor 3:18-23)
