Hebrews 12:18-29
Sciptures: Hebrews 12:18-29, Ex 19:18, 20:18, Deut 4:11, 5:22

I. Two mountains contrasted (Heb 12:18, 22)

a. Mount Sinai – mountain of death, smoking, appearance of the glory of the Lord, burned with fire, two tablets of stones = the mountain that Christian don’t come to. (Heb 12:18-21)
b. Mount Zion – city of the living God, heavenly Jerusalem, angles in festal gathering, assembly of the firstborn, God, judge of all, spirits of the righteous made perfect, Jesus of mediator, sprinkled blood. (Heb 12:22-24)

II. The Unshaken Kingdom (Heb 12:25-29)

a. Do not refuse him who is speaking for there is no escape. (Heb 2:3)
b. His voice shook the earth and heavens – only the unshaken remains. (Haggai 2:6, 21)
c. Let’s be grateful to receive the unshaken kingdom by offering to God acceptable worship with reverence and awe.
d. God is a consuming fire. (Deu 4:23-24)

1. Memorial Service: The Memorial Service for our beloved Sister Tee Wah Chow will take place on Saturday, December 14, at Home of Christians, L.A., from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. In honor of Sister Chow’s memory, the family kindly encourages attendees to wear a touch of green, her favorite color. Please continue to keep the family in your prayers, asking for God’s comfort and grace to sustain them during this time.
2. Winter Camp: This year’s winter camp is Sunday December 29 to Tuesday December 31, 2024 at Oak Glen Christian Conference Center. Registration is now until December 15, please register today. For more information please click here.
3. Parking: We continue to reserve our church parking spaces on Sunday for the elderly, those with children and those with special needs. We are grateful to the Lord that our brothers have secured permission from Dr. Howard Chen’s Orthodontics clinic for the use of his parking lot at 318 N Garfield Ave., which is conveniently located on the same side as our church and adjacent to Dim Sum Express. Please click here for reference. The lot offers 30 parking spaces, and we encourage all congregants to fully utilize these spaces. Please ensure that you park within the designated lines, lock your doors and windows, refrain from leaving valuables in your vehicles, and maintain cleanliness in the parking area. This arrangement is available every Sunday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
4. In-Person Meeting: Welcome back! English group, Chinese group and children Sunday School is back to in person meetings. Our meeting schedule has changed, Sunday morning starts 9:15AM with Breaking of Bread followed by worship and message at 10:00AM. Please refer to the schedule for details.
5. Prayer Meeting: Prayer Meetings are Tuesdays from 8:00 to 9:15PM, joining via Webex for the combined session of the meeting (Meeting number: 6 2 7 5 6 4 2 7 4 Password: 4 0 0 0). We are using Zoom for the English group session, please reach out to Richer for login information.
6. Bible Reading Plan: For 2024 Bible-in-a-year reading, we will follow “More Jesus Reading Plan 365” and will read through the Bible in a year. With a reading plan, we can keep one another accountable in our Bible reading. For more details or to join the plan, click here.
