Enter Into the Rest of the Lord

Scriptures: Hebrews 4:1-11; Matthew 11:28-30

1. Creational Rest

a. Men entered into God’s creational rest once they were created
b. Men enjoyed all the abundance and blessings in God’s rest
c. Men’s rebellion and disobedience caused them to lose their right to live in the rest
d. Men were cast out from the rest of God

2. Canaanite Rest

a. The glorious will of God for the Israelites
b. Their hardened heart and unbelief stirred up God’s sorrow and anger
c. They could enter into this rest

3. The Lord’s Rest

a. The Lord Jesus accomplished all the redemption requirements
b. The great calling of the Lord to enter into His rest
c. The only way to enter into His rest
