Remembering Jesus Christ and Obtaining Salvation in Him

Scriptures: 2 Timothy 2:8-13

I. We are called to remember Jesus Christ as:(2 Tim 2:8-10)

1. The ever-living Lord. (Rev 1:8)
2. Risen from the dead. (Matt 28:6)
3. Coming King. (Rev 17:140
4. The Gospel of Salvation. (I Cor 15:1-5)
5. Living Word. (John 6:63)
6. Head of the glorious Church. (Col 1:18)

II. Obtaining Salvation in Christ by:(2 Tim 2:10-13)

1. Dying with Him (carrying our cross) in order to live with Him – soldier of the cross.
2. Enduring with Him is to reign with Him.
3. Trusting in Him – like clay in the hands of the potter. (Jer 18:6)
4. Believing in His refiner’s fire to sanctify us to be pure gold. (Mal 3:2, Rev 21:18)
5. Becoming the glorious eternal church of Christ without spot, wrinkle… pleasing to God (Eph 5:26-27, 1 Peter 2:5)

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1. Bible Reading Plan: For this year’s Bible reading, we will be using the BibleProject | Biblical Storyline Reading Plan. With a reading plan, we can keep one another accountable in our Bible reading. For more details or to join the plan, click here.
2. Breaking of Bread: Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, our church has not been able to have Breaking of Bread Meeting for a long time. But we want to follow the Lord’s command. According to the Holy Bible (Acts 2:46), saints can break bread at home if there are more than two people in a household. When conducting the Breaking of Bread, please use unleavened bread (like Matzo) and grape wine to remember the Lord. For regional home meetings, each home meeting may conduct its Break of Bread together online. Each family or individual within a regional home meeting will prepare its own bread and cup to remember the Lord. If brothers and sisters need any assistance relating to the online Breaking of Bread, like how to host or participate in an online meeting, or how to prepare unleavened bread and grape wine, or needing Hymnaries, for English Group, please contact Brother William, Brother Caleb and Sister Jean. If conditions permit in the future, we can have a church-wide online Breaking of Bread. For information to access coming Sunday’s Breaking of Bread, please email William at williego@pacbell.net
3. Prayer Meeting: Our weekly prayer meeting is on Tuesdays from 8:00 to 9:15 PM. We are using Webex to host the combined session of the meeting.
