Soundboard Production PC Stream PC Misc
Before

(9:00-9:50)

  1. Turn on Furman Conditioner (central power)
  2. Main Speakers: Set Main Out to -20dB
  3. Ceiling Speakers: Press Button for Matrix 1-6, then set Ceiling out to -20dB
  4. Use “Select” buttons to select desired channel, then press the “solo” button to listen on headphones. Use “Gain” knob to set gain. Goal is for loudest volume to peak between -18 and -24. Repeat for each mic/instrument being used
  5. Once gain is set for all inputs, unmute input and adjust room volume using the corresponding fader
  6. Once room volume is adjusted, press the “Sends on Fader” button, then Solo the “Focusrite” output channel. Repeat step 4v. Goal is for meter in “OBS” on Production PC to be in the red without peaking.
  7. Once “Focusrite” volume is adjusted, Solo the “Stream” output channel. Repeat step 4v. Goal is for meter in “OBS” on Streaming PC to be in the red without peaking.
  8. Mute “Focusrite” and “Stream” until respective meetings start.
  1. Turn on PC & sign in
  2. “OBS” and “Traktion Waveform” should auto launch
  3. Check email for Speaker/ Singing PPT
  4. Unmute “Stream” on the Mixer, then verify sound is coming into OBS
  5. Mute “Stream” on the mixer before BoB

 

  1. Open “Breaking of Bread” shortcut on Desktop
  2. Open folders for “Black book,” “Purple Book,” and “Hymnary”
  3. Open “BoB PPT” and send to projector
  4. Switch Scene in “OBS” to “PTZ” and verify camera is working
  5. Set camera scene to “Breaking of Bread” (Preset #5)
  6. Click on “Start Virtual Camera”
  7. Open “Zoom”
  8. Login (Using William’s account)
  9. Start meeting
  10. Confirm “Virtual Camera” is visible in Zoom
  11. Unmute “Focusrite” to send room sound to “Zoom”
  12. In Zoom turn on “original sound for musicians: on”
  1. Turn on PC & sign in
  2. Launch OBS
  3. Check email for Livestream Splash Screen Photo
  4. Open Chrome and open 2 tabs
    1. YouTube Studio
    2. Facebook Livestream
  5. In OBS
    1. Change “Splash Screen” photo to new photo
    2. Verify RTMP Server and Stream Key for both
    3. Check Scene “Side by Side” and make sure all text is visible
    4. Unmute “Stream” on the Mixer, then verify sound is coming into OBS
    5. Mute “Stream” on the mixer before BoB
  6. If using “Touch Portal,” Launch “Touch Portal”
  1. Turn on projectors
  2. Turn on stage lights (lightswitch and DMX controller)
  3. Check batteries for wireless mics for speaker
  4. Check with song leader how many mics/ which instruments will be used for Sunday
  5. Set up mics, cables, and stands as necessary
  6. Mics
    • Input 26 – use for extra singer on piano side, or if leading from piano
    • Input 27 – use for main singer
    • Input 28 – use for second singer
    • Input 29 – use for extra singer on electric keyboard side, or if leading from keyboard
Breaking of Bread

(10:00-10:50)

  1. Unmute “Focusrite” to send room sound to “Zoom”
  2. Unmute piano, pianist (optional), audience mics.
  3. Ensure either PC Channel 15/16 or Aux1 and Aux2 (3rd page on Aux In/USB page) is on, so zoom people prayer can be heard.
  4. When BoB is over, mute “Focusrite”
  1. When a song is selected, find the corresponding PPT file and send it to the Projector
  2. Use “OBS PTZ 2 Scene”
  3. When BoB is over, leave Zoom meeting
  4. Click on “Stop Virtual Camera”
  1. Give wireless microphone to the speaker.
Message

(11:00-12:10)

  1. Unmute “Stream” on the Mixer, then verify sound is coming into OBS
  2. Start Recording in “Traktion Waveform,” then verify sound is being received in Waveform
  3. When Service is over, mute “Stream”
 

  1. Switch Scene in “OBS” to “PPT”
  2. Start PPT for meeting
  3. Unmute “Stream” on the Mixer, then verify sound is coming into OBS
  4. Start Recording in “Traktion Waveform”
  1. Set camera scene to “Singing” (Preset #2)
  2. Click on “Start Streaming” 2-3 minutes before 11:00AM
  3. Unmute “Stream” on the Mixer, then verify sound is coming into OBS
  4. During Meeting
    1. Change Scenes as necessary throughout meeting
    2. Create Thumbnail
  1. Take photo of speaker. Idea is to have enough space on the left or right to place text. Do not center the speaker.
  2. Copy photo from camera to desktop
  3. Open “Thumbnail Template.xcf”
  4. Drag photo into GIMP as new layer
  5. Delete layer containing photo from previous week
  6. Use “Scale” tool to make photo 1344×756
  7. Change both layers in “Title” group to message title
    1. Make bottom layer black, top layer color that stands out
  8. Change both layers in “Scripture” group to Scripture reference
    1. Make bottom layer black, top layer white
  9. Adjust text so that it is legible
  10. Select background layer
  11. Use “Eraser” tool to remove rectangle
  12. Use “Rectangle Select” tool to draw new rectangle
  13. Use “Paint Bucket” tool to color in new Rectangle
  14. Go to File -> Export
  15. Title photo, then export to desktop
After

  1. After meeting is over
    1. Stop Recording in “Traktion Waveform”
    2. Run “Windows Updater”
  2. Shut off Computer
  1. After Meeting
    1. Click on “Stop Streaming”
  2. Verify stream has stopped on YouTube and Facebook
  3. YouTube
    1. Update Description with Timestamps
    2. Update Thumbnail
    3. Save changes
  4. Run “Windows Updater”
  5. Shut off Computer
  1. Receive wireless back from speaker
  2. Turn off lights
  3. Turn off projector
  4. Put away any extra cables and mics
Troubleshoot
  1. If main speakers aren’t working, make sure to check the controller on the very bottom to make sure power is on (sometimes it gets kicked and turned off)
  2. If volume cannot be turned up to a reasonable level without very loud feedback, make sure line 32 volume is down all the way.  Line 32 sends to PC via USB.
  3. If x32 is not showing volume on the mainhall PC or laptop, check mainhall PC OBS, audit mixer, x32->gears->properties-> OBS Channel 1 and 2 should show x-32 Input 23 & 24 (Previously 25, Chinese Group Hall is input 30).  RESTART OBS.
  4. If all else fails and still doesn’t get sound, make sure windows is updated, or reset x32 preset.
1. Turn on “original sound” in zoom to enable room sound. (??)
  1. Audio & Video not in sync; click “gear” icon to open “advanced audio properties”. In the “sync offset” adjust the audio speed. (positive 220ms means slowing down audio by 220 milliseconds so video can catch up)

PODIUM StickPC, please turn on before BoB or during BoB.

  1. Turning on the StickPC. Turn on the stick PC under the podium. Push the power button to turn it on. The status light should turn to “blue” when power is on.
  2. Operating the StickPC – Anydesk. Go to the stream PC desktop, look for shortcut “Podium_EN” to remote into the stick PC. (via anydesk)
  3. Operating the StickPC. NDI Studio Monitor should auto turn on at startup. The “Mainhall-EN” stream should auto turnon. If not, right click to look for it. If not, just restart the StickPC (like you would any PC, go to “start” -> power -> restart). Anydesk will lose connection, just reconnect (see step 2) after 5 minutes when StickPC is booted.
  4. Turn if off. Go to the stream PC desktop, look for shortcut “Podium_EN” to remote into the stick PC. Turn it off as you would any PC.  “start” -> power -> turn off.

Soundboard

  1. Turn on mixer power (central power)
  2. Make sure the following are checked as appropriate:
    1. Main speakers and ceiling speakers’ volume
    2. Singers/guitar/piano as appropriate (sound check)
    3. Speaker (stage) volume (make sure only 1 mic is on on stage if there is only 1 speaker)
    4. Ensure streaming volumes are appropriate (camera scene, send fader to show volumes – typically need not mess with this)
  3. Prior to live streaming, mute “stream” scene. Be sure to unmute when ready to go live.
  4. Mute singers during transition (as applicable).

Troubleshoot —

Breaking of Bread

Software OBS Zoom Powerpoint
Before (9:00-9:30)
  • Switch Scene to “PTZ” and verify camera is working
  • Set camera scene to “Breaking of Bread” (Preset #5)
  • Click on “Start Virtual Camera”
  • Unmute “Focusrite” to send room sound to “Zoom” (Same on Soundboard)
  • Click on “Join meeting”
  • Sign into meeting
  • Confirm “Virtual Camera” is visible in Zoom
  • Confirm “Focusrite” is receiving sound.
  • “Turn on original sound” (??)
  • Open “BoB PPT” and send to projector
During (10:00-10:50)
  • Change scene when ppt is showing
  • When a song is selected, find the corresponding PPT file and send it to the Projector.
After (10:50)
  • “Stop Virtual Camera”
  • Leave Zoom meeting
Troubleshoot  (change setting on zoom to enable room sound goes out)

 

Message

  1. Download PowerPoint file(s) (singing and message) & ensure slide contents show in their entirety in Lower Third scene and 4×3 or regular side by side scenes (ie: all contents of the slides show).  If the speaker does not have powerpoint , please create slide with message title, outline and type out the verses (e.g Stephen uses NIV).
  1. Open waveform to record singing (alt-R to “arm” all tracks and hit record.)
  2. Provide clicker to speaker if requested. (In order for clicker to work, the slideshow window must be the top window – that means you cannot be multitasking when speaker is clicking next slide).

Streaming PC

  1. Turn on PC
  2. Open OBS
  3. Within OBS, open camera controller (PTZOptics Camera Panel?) to control the PTZ camera & use the pre-set positions. optional: can also use remote.  Position the singers in “PTZ” and “Split” scenes as applicable.  To use the controller, select “camera1” to use the preset positions (speaker, singers). To set presets, position the camera, then click “preset” and the desired preset number. Note: preset 3 does not work.
  4. Make sure volume from Mainhall PC is coming through “camera” scene from mixer (sound check)
  5. Download the splash screen JPEG from email (both English and Chinese); update the splash screen to the JPEG you just downloaded.
  6. Log into YouTube, go to “go live” and make sure “auto start”, “auto off” and “ultra low latency” are checked.
  7. Start streaming and start Facebook broadcast 5-10 minutes before 9:15 am.
  8. In between singing and speaker, make sure to change scene discretely if necessary.

Troubleshoot —

  1. Lower the white screen
  2. Turn on front & back projectors

  1. Show the outline QR code prior to the meeting

 


Breaking of Bread

  • Zoom
    1. Login (using William’s account), start BOB
    2. Audio select Focusrite USB
    3. Video select OBS Virtual Camera
  • OBS – select PTZ scene; start virtual camera (turn “original sound for musicians: on”)
  • Soundboard:
    1. Use PC recording BUS (at least piano and pianist is mic-ed), audience mic even better.
    2. Ensure either PC Channel 15/16 or Aux1 and Aux2 (3rd page on Aux In/USB page) is on, so zoom people prayer can be heard.
  • PPT: (can either share screen on zoom or use OBS PTZ 2 scene)

Winter Camp 2022 – Adding Zoom

There are three ways to attend Winter Camp, 1) in person, 2) via Youtube then go to Zoom for group discussion or 3) Zoom

Prior to Meeting:

  1. Turn on mixer power (central power) – this also turns on PTZ camera’s router (do this first before turning on laptop to avoid potential PTZ network issues)
  2. Make sure the following are checked as appropriate:
    1. Main speakers and ceiling speakers’ volume
    2. Singers/guitar/piano as appropriate (sound check)
    3. Speaker (stage) volume (make sure only 1 mic is on onstage if there is only 1 speaker)
    4. Ensure streaming volumes are appropriate (camera scene, send fader to show volumes – typically need not mess with this)
2) Mainhall PC (As usual)

  1. Turn on mainhall PC
  2. Open OBS (OBS is what enables the powerpoint & sound to carry through to the streaming laptop though NDI)
  3. Download PowerPoint file(s) (singing ) & ensure slide contents show in their entirety in PIP scenes (ie: PIP does not block contents of the slides).  
  4. Open waveform to record singing (alt-R to “arm” all tracks and hit record.)

(New)

  1. Open Zoom, mute and video off.
3) Laptop (As usual)

  1. Plug in laptop (include power, USB-C, network RJ45, Fan, optional headphones), turn on laptop
  2. Open OBS
  3. Within OBS, open camera controller (PTZOptics Camera Panel) to control the PTZ camera & use the pre-set positions. optional: can also use remote.  Position the singers in “PTZ” and “Split” scenes as applicable.  To use the controller, select “camera1” to use the preset positions (speaker, singers).   2. Start with PTZ scene, once ready to sing, move to “two-thirds scene”

  1. Mute all mics except mainhall PC (so sound can come from zoom through to the speakers for inperson attendees)

  1. Show Zoom full screen on projector screen.
  2. Select a view appropriate when speaker is screen sharing (side by side view, spotlight speaker, pull the participant window out from the projector) 
  3. In OBS audio mixer – Mute x32 and unmute “desktop audio”.  So stream can pickup audio from zoom.
  4. If need to use mic for announcements, consider muting laptop zoom mic and enable desktop zoom mic to avoid feedback loop.
